KONTRIBUSI GURU BIMBINGAN KONSELING (BK) TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA KELAS VIII MTsS DARUL HIKMAH

This study aims to examine the contribution of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers to the learning achievements of eighth-grade students at MTsS Darul Hikmah. The research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach using data collection techniques through interviews. The results show that the BK teachers significantly contribute to students' learning achievements by tailoring their approach to the social conditions and backgrounds of the students. Three key backgrounds considered are the majority of students coming from rural areas, most of them being Muslim, and the students' parents working as farmers. The BK program is implemented using simple methods such as problem boxes, counseling sessions in collaboration with religious teachers, and group discussions. The evaluation results indicate that the counseling program has a positive impact on students' behavior and academic performance. However, this study suggests that the BK program should be further improved, and a comparative study with more advanced schools should be conducted to enhance the quality of education at MTsS Darul Hikmah.
