Abstract

This research is intended to increase the creativity of children aged 4-5 years at the Dahlia Dasan Lekong Kindergarten by applying the origami paper folding method to 12 children. The research was carried out in two cycles involving planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. Data was collected through observation techniques using observation sheets. Classroom action research is carried out in collaboration between researchers and colleagues, where the researcher acts as a teacher and colleagues as supervisors and evaluators. The results of this experiment show that the use of the origami paper folding method is effective in awakening the creativity of Dahlia Dasan Lekong Kindergarten students. At the start of the study only 2 children (16.7%) were not yet developing (BB), 5 children (41.6%) were developing as expected (BSH) and 5 children (41.6%) were developing very well (BSB). In cycle I, 7 children (58.3%) developed according to expectations (BSH) and 5 children (41.6%) began to develop (MB). In Cycle II this number increased to 6 children (50%) developing as expected (BSH) and 6 children (50%) developing very well (BSB). Apart from that, children's motor skills also develop, as can be seen from their ability to make various folded shapes from origami paper. The implication of this research is to increase the insight of teachers and parents regarding the importance of stimulating the development of creativity in early childhood
