Publication Ethics
Reform: Jurnal Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik is committed to maintaining the integrity, quality, and credibility of scholarly publication in the fields of social sciences and political science. The journal adheres to the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and applies ethical standards to authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
1. Authors
Authors must submit original manuscripts that have not been published or simultaneously submitted to another journal. Authors are responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their research. Plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, and inappropriate authorship are strictly prohibited. Authors must properly acknowledge sources, disclose relevant conflicts of interest, and report significant errors identified after publication.
2. Editors
Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, objective, transparent, and independent editorial process. Manuscripts are evaluated based on academic quality, originality, relevance, and conformity with the journal's scope, without discrimination. Editors must maintain confidentiality, manage conflicts of interest, and respond appropriately to allegations of academic or publication misconduct.
3. Reviewers
Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively, constructively, and confidentially. Reviews should be based on the manuscript's originality, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, and academic significance. Reviewers must disclose conflicts of interest and may not use or disclose unpublished information obtained during the review process.
4. Research and Publication Integrity
The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, research fabrication or falsification, citation manipulation, duplicate publication, or other forms of academic misconduct. Submitted manuscripts may undergo plagiarism and similarity screening. Allegations of misconduct will be investigated and addressed in accordance with recognized publication ethics standards.
5. Conflict of Interest and Editorial Independence
Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any personal, professional, institutional, or financial interests that may influence the research or editorial process. Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit and are independent of political, commercial, or personal interests.
6. Corrections and Retractions
Reform: Jurnal Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik is committed to maintaining an accurate and reliable scholarly record. Corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern may be issued when substantial errors, ethical violations, or research misconduct affect the validity or integrity of a published article.
7. Artificial Intelligence
Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, and integrity of their manuscripts. AI-assisted tools may be used to support manuscript preparation, but they cannot be listed as authors. Substantive use of artificial intelligence in the research or preparation of a manuscript should be disclosed transparently.
