Abstract

Abstract

The development of information technology has encouraged notarial services to adapt to digital transformation. This article analyzes the regulation of cyber notary in the Indonesian notarial legal system and identifies legal problems arising from its implementation. This study uses normative legal research with statutory, conceptual, and analytical approaches. The results show that Indonesian positive law has recognized electronic transactions, electronic documents, and electronic systems, but has not specifically regulated cyber notary. This creates legal issues concerning the formal validity of notarial deeds, identity verification, evidentiary value of electronic documents, data protection, and liability for system failure or misuse. Therefore, clearer regulation is needed to provide legal certainty, protect the parties, preserve notarial authenticity, and support digital legal services in Indonesia.
