Pemahaman (Pi) Materi Lingkaran Dengan Metode Inkuiri Menggunakan Media Pembelajaran di UPTD SPF SMPN I Klabang Kelas VIII C Tahun Pelajaran 2022/2023

Abstract

In mathematics, especially in the material of circles, we are already familiar with π (pi) where this constant has its own uniqueness. Until now, no one has found the last digit behind the decimal point of the value of π (Pi) itself. But what exactly is π (Pi)? Also, how to understand to students that π (Pi) is indeed part of a circle. So learning media has a role that proves this. Also, the inquiry method is more appropriate because this method emphasizes finding it yourself in a particular theory, even though it is limited to guided discovery. This study is expected to contribute to research that will be used as one of the information in the application of learning methods and the use of simple learning media but is able to achieve learning objectives. The researcher chose class VIII C because the material in the K-13 curriculum is in class VIII. The selection of class VIII C was because besides the researcher teaching in that class, the researcher also saw that the value in mathematics in that class was still relatively low. The study shows that the use of learning media with the Inquiry method can improve students' understanding of the value of π (Pi) and can also improve learning outcomes in the material on the length of a circular arc.
