Abstract

This research is motivated by the low mathematical problem-solving abilities and learning outcomes of students at MTs Miftahul Ulum, which are attributed to teacher-centered learning and conventional lecture methods that decrease student motivation. This study aims to improve these abilities through the application of the Team Assisted Individualization learning model on the topic of cube structures. The methodology employed is Classroom Action Research (CAR) following the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consists of four stages: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The research was conducted in one cycle involving Grade VIII students. The results indicate a significant improvement in student engagement and learning outcomes. Student activity increased by 8%, reaching 100% by the second meeting of Cycle I. While initial student activity was largely in the "sufficient" (8%) and "good" (17%) categories, it improved to 92% in the "excellent" category by the second meeting. It is concluded that the Team Assisted Individualization cooperative learning model effectively enhances mathematical learning outcomes for cube structures. The model fosters better concentration, interaction, and collaboration among students, allowing them to focus more on the learning material and effectively solve problems within their teams.
